Kirtipur- A vibrant group of 53 tattoo artists from 20 different countries took part in a special heritage walk through the historic city of Kirtipur, immersing themselves in its rich cultural and architectural legacy. The artists are currently in Nepal to participate in the Nepal Tattoo Convention 2025.
Organized by the Kirtipur Volunteer Society (KVS) with support from the Kirtipur Guide Association, the heritage walk offered the visiting artists a unique glimpse into Nepal’s living heritage. The Kirtipur Community Homestay warmly welcomed the group, showcasing the city’s signature hospitality and commitment to community-based tourism.

During the walk, participants explored several of Kirtipur’s iconic landmarks, including the ancient Chilancho Stupa and the revered Bagh Bhairab Temple. The experience provided deeper insight into the spiritual and historical dimensions of Kirtipur, while also fostering cross-cultural dialogue between local traditions and global artistic perspectives.
KVS President Sudhan Subedi expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the artists and organizers of the Nepal Tattoo Convention, saying, “This is a proud moment for Kirtipur. To be the cultural prelude to such a significant international gathering highlights our city’s enduring value.”

Artists participating in the walk hailed from the USA, UK, Germany, Austria, Australia, India, Singapore, Italy, Indonesia, Cambodia, France, Costa Rica, Spain, China, Turkey, Hong Kong, Ukraine, Argentina, Canada, and Nepal—making the event a truly global celebration of art and culture.
The Nepal Tattoo Convention 2025 is scheduled to take place from April 11 to 13 at Sanepa Heritage Garden in Lalitpur. The event is being actively promoted by the Nepal Tourism Board as part of its broader initiative to integrate art, culture, and tourism in meaningful and innovative ways.
